Multiple Attacks by Militants in North Waziristan Result in 7 Security Personnel Martyred and 2 Injured
Rawalpindi: In a series of unfortunate events, security forces in North Waziristan faced two separate attacks by militants, resulting in the martyrdom of 7 security personnel and injuries to 2 others.
According to local reports, the first attack occurred in the Hassan Khel area of Datakhel tehsil, where militants targeted a bomb disposal unit. Following the explosion, militants opened fire on the security forces, resulting in the martyrdom of 5 personnel and injuring 2 others.
In another incident, militants launched an attack on a security post in the Cement area of Mir Ali, leading to the martyrdom of 2 security personnel.
The injured and martyred security personnel have been airlifted to combined military hospitals for medical treatment.
Security forces immediately cordoned off the affected areas and initiated search operations following the attacks.
Additionally, police sources revealed that on the night of May 8th in the Shewa tehsil of North Waziristan, militants targeted a private school for girls with explosives. Prior to the attack, the school’s security guard was subjected to violence, followed by explosions in two rooms of the school.
Similar incidents occurred last year in May when two government schools for girls were targeted with explosives in Mir Ali, resulting in no casualties.

The security forces are actively engaged in ensuring the safety and security of the region, with ongoing efforts to counter militant activities and restore peace in North Waziristan.
