At least 25 people have died after a coaster traveling from Rawalpindi to Pallandri plunged into a ditch in Azad Patan, Rawalakot, Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Rescue teams have transported the bodies and injured individuals to a nearby hospital, where efforts to treat the wounded and identify the deceased are underway. The deceased include 20 men, 4 women, and a child. The bodies are being moved to Tehsil Headquarters Kahuta for further processing.

Earlier, a bus transporting pilgrims from Iran to Pakistan fell into a ditch on the Makran Coastal Highway due to brake failure near Busi Top. In that incident, 10 people died and over 32 were injured.

According to a Rescue 1122 spokesperson, a rescue vehicle was dispatched to the scene of the accident near Azad Patan Bridge. Preliminary reports indicate 25 deaths and one injury, with ongoing rescue operations to transfer the casualties to the hospital.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has expressed profound sorrow over the Rawalakot bus tragedy. He has extended his condolences to the families of the victims and urged the local administration to offer full support to the bereaved families and ensure prompt medical care for the injured.
