23 Killed in Brutal Balochistan Attack

Passengers Pulled from Vehicles and Shot Dead in Musakhel.

Quetta/Musakhel- In a tragic and violent incident, 23 passengers were mercilessly killed after being dragged from their vehicles at a checkpoint near Rara Sham in Balochistan’s Musakhel district. Armed assailants established a roadblock on the interprovincial highway and executed the attack, leading to a devastating loss of life.

SSP Musakhel Ayub Achakazai reported that the attackers stopped the vehicles, forced the passengers off, and then opened fire, killing all 23. The victims are said to be from various parts of Punjab.

The assailants also torched more than 10 vehicles before fleeing the scene.

Large contingents of police and Levies officials have arrived at the site and have transported the bodies to the hospital. An investigation into the incident is currently underway.

Kalat Terrorist Attacks

In a separate incident, armed men established another checkpoint on the National Highway near Raada Sham, where they abducted six passengers from a Daewoo bus traveling from Quetta to Faisalabad in Punjab. Two additional passengers were taken from a pickup truck during a search.

A passenger reported that the attackers checked the passengers’ identity cards before abducting them. The abducted individuals are also from Punjab.

The assailants, estimated to be between 20 and 25 individuals, managed to block the National Highway for over an hour during their attack.

Loralai Commissioner Saadat Hassan confirmed the tragic incident, stating that 23 bodies are currently at the Raada Sham Basic Health Unit. In addition to the fatalities, numerous trucks and pickup trucks were set ablaze, leading to the complete destruction of over 23 vehicles.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s Response

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has strongly condemned the horrific terrorist attack. He expressed profound sorrow and extended heartfelt condolences to the families of those killed in this brutal act.

Naqvi criticized the terrorists for targeting innocent individuals near Musakhel, describing their actions as a display of extreme cruelty and brutality. He assured that those responsible for the attack, along with their facilitators, would face severe repercussions. The Minister highlighted the collective sacrifices made by both the public and security forces in the ongoing battle against terrorism, emphasizing that these efforts will continue unwaveringly.
