21 people were injured in a car explosion in Islamabad.

A car explosion near Islamabad’s Kacheri injured at least 21 persons on Tuesday.
According to police, the car took fire after the explosion, and the flames swiftly consumed it.
A large number of police and security personnel responded to the area, while rescue crews transported the injured to a nearby hospital.

Hospital sources said that several of the injured are in critical condition.

The explosion also damaged nearby parked vehicles and motorcycles, officials said. The fire has since been extinguished.

Police have cordoned off the area and launched an investigation to determine the cause of the blast.
