Lahore_On the directions of Punjab caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, the provincial government Tuesday released Rs2.3 billion worth of funds on an emergency basis to improve the condition of six major hospitals in Punjab,
The funds were released for the construction and repair of infrastructure in the hospital.
Rs500 million were released for revamping the infrastructure and emergency block of Mayo Hospital in Lahore.
Rs300 million were released to Children’s Hospital, Rs500 million to General Hospital and Rs400 million to Jinnah Hospital in Lahore.
The chief minister had himself visited the hospitals for the improvement of their infrastructure.
The construction and repair work will be started in August, official sources said.
Mohsin Naqvi visited the site of the Akbar Chowk flyover project and reviewed the progress.
Mohsin Naqvi was briefed about the work on the project.
He issued directives to speed up the work to finish the task on time. Special arrangements should be made to ensure an uninterrupted flow of traffic during the construction works
Work is also progressing rapidly on the U-turns adjacent to the project, he said, adding that it will provide easy transportation to millions of motorists
He said after the completion of this project traffic jam issue will be resolved permanently.
He issued directives to protect ensure the protection of the trees.
Lahore Commissioner and LDA DG briefed the CM about the pace of work and progress. Ministers and officials concerns were also present.
Surprise visit to LDA
Punjab caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid a surprise visit to One Window Cell in the Lahore Development Authority (LDA).
The chief minister admonished the LDA officers.
He also heard the problems of the complainants and issued orders on the spot.
