CDA Chairman launches Tree Plantation Drive at National Press Club

Islamabad (Mudassar Iqbal): Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, officially launched a tree plantation campaign by planting a sapling at the National Press Club.

Speaking at the occasion, PFUJ President Afzal Butt said, “The same day we met with the CDA Chairman, the bus service from Media Town was launched. We requested it, and he took immediate action.”

He added that the initiative to make Islamabad greener will now be led by the National Press Club.

Addressing the ceremony, Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa said, “We will work together with institutions and the Press Club to resolve the city’s problems. The press identifies issues, and we in CDA will work to solve them.”

He urged civil society and the National Press Club to actively participate in the “One Million Trees” plantation campaign.

In a light-hearted tone, he added, “I say, even those who come to protest at the Press Club should first plant a tree.”

Randhawa also shared that 160 buses are currently operational in Islamabad and that soon, full details of their routes and timings will be available on Google Maps. He assured that remaining works on bus routes would also be completed shortly.

“Every initiative we take is guided by sincerity and good intentions,” he concluded.
