16 Individuals Granted Bail in Jinnah House Incident Case
LAHORE: In a recent development, an anti-terrorism tribunal has sanctioned post-detention bail for 16 individuals implicated in the turmoil surrounding the Jinnah House attack that unfolded during the upheavals on May 9.
Presided over by Judge Naveed Iqbal, the tribunal greenlit the bail requests of the 16 individuals, contingent upon the provision of surety bonds.
This decision comes amidst a backdrop of over 200 additional bail petitions, the hearings for which have been adjourned until February 19, as per a report by media on Sunday.
Among the beneficiaries of this ruling are Khawar Hussain Butt, Farrukh Azeem, Zaheer Arshad, Muhammad Zeeshan, Muhammad Arshad, Saleem Ahmad, Syed Asghar Ali, Javed Hussain, Muhammad Ramzan, Mohsin Ashiq, Umar Shahzad, and Nadeem Abbas.
In a separate legal matter, Judge Naveed Iqbal deferred the proceedings concerning a bail plea filed by Sanam Javed, a social media activist affiliated with the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, implicated in the Shadman police station assault case. The adjournment transpired as the prosecution failed to present the requisite case records during the hearing.

Arguing on behalf of the accused, Javed’s legal representative contended that the authorities apprehended their client under dubious circumstances, alleging a lack of any involvement in the purported attack on the police station.
Stressing upon Javed’s prior release on bail in preceding cases, the lawyer urged the court to extend bail to the defendant in the current scenario.
In response, the judge instructed the prosecution to furnish the case records by the scheduled hearing date of February 20.
