England Thrashes Pakistan in Multan Test, Wins by an Innings and 47 Runs
Leach and Carse Lead the Way as England Takes 1-0 Series Lead

England secured a commanding victory over Pakistan in the first Test of the series in Multan, winning by an innings and 47 runs on the fifth day.
Jack Leach played a pivotal role in Pakistan’s second innings, claiming 4 wickets to help seal the match. Pakistan was dismissed for 220, falling well short after England posted a mammoth first-innings total of 823/7 declared.
Pakistan’s lower order struggled to hold on, with both Naseem Shah and Shaheen Shah Afridi falling to Leach. Afridi was dismissed with a sharp caught-and-bowled effort, while Naseem offered brief resistance, hitting a six before being stumped, marking the end of Pakistan’s innings and confirming England’s emphatic win.
Despite a solid effort from Aamer Jamal, who top-scored with 55, Pakistan was unable to recover from England’s overwhelming lead. England’s bowlers, particularly Leach and Brydon Carse, maintained relentless pressure throughout the innings.
This victory gives England a 1-0 lead in the series.
