Terrorist Attack in Bajaur Claims Lives of 11 Security Personnel

RAWALPINDI (Web Desk) – A terrorist attack on a joint security and law enforcement checkpost in Bajaur district on 16 February 2026 claimed the lives of 11 personnel, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The attackers, identified by ISPR as members of the “Indian Proxy Fitna al Khwarij,” attempted to breach the checkpost. Pakistan’s security forces responded swiftly, engaging the militants with precision and neutralizing 12 terrorists during the confrontation.

In a desperate move, the assailants rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the perimeter wall of the post. The blast caused the collapse of the infrastructure, resulting in the martyrdom of the security personnel and one innocent young girl from a nearby civilian residential area. Seven others, including women and children, were injured in the attack.
