1026 power stealers apprehended, CEO IESCO

187.6 million has recovered by running and dead defaulters, Dr Muhammad Amjad khan

Islamabad_In light of Government of Pakistan and Ministry of Energy vision regarding elimination of power theft and collection of 100 percent bill recovery, atmost efforts are being carried out by all IESCO formation against power theft and collection of recoveries by running and dead defaulters

The announcement Compaign has been entered in 18 th day and so far during checking 1026 consumers caught while stealing electricity by different models. Detection teams charged fine of 68.2 million for stealing 1.48 million units. 328 FIRs registered and police arrested 28 individuals on account of stealing electricity.

Additionally, stringent measures are being taken against consumers who haven’t paid their electricity bills for three months or whose meters have been disconnected due to non-payment. Recovery teams since operation started recovered 187.6 million from running and dead defaulters.

He emphasized the unwavering support of the government and the Ministry of Energy, along with collaboration with the police and district administration.
