Sure elections will be held in October, says Sh Rasheed
Emphasizing that he was sure that general elections would be held in the country in October, former interior minister Sheikh Rashid on Tuesday said that elections were must if the country was to be pulled out of crises.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore, he dared the government to arrest him. He further said that when people of Lahore woke up, the entire country woke up.
Referring to growing distrust in the coalition partners of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government, he went on to say that the situation had come to such a pass that now the allied parties had started expressing their concerns. “Both the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) have now started saying this openly that they were dodged,” Rashid added.
Former minister also regretted increase in the prices of essential items, including electricity and petrol, and said people would be dumbfounded next time they received their electricity bills.
