PTI Demands Chief Election Commissioner’s Resignation

ISLAMABAD: Leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) staged a protest rally in Islamabad, demanding the immediate resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner, citing failures in ensuring a fair and transparent election process.
Addressing the rally, Umar Ayub criticized the Election Commission for its alleged inability to uphold electoral integrity, asserting that both the Chief Election Commissioner and other commission members should step down promptly.
“Barrister Gauhar highlighted the plight of our opposition leaders facing closed courtroom doors and incarcerated women, emphasizing the urgency of justice delayed,” PTI leader Asad Qaiser remarked during the peaceful demonstration in support of their demands.
The protest underscores PTI’s dissatisfaction with parliamentary proceedings and its call for accountability within the Election Commission, signaling ongoing political tensions amidst calls for electoral reform.
