In a recent turn of events, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Chaudhry Parvez Elahi was admitted to Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology after experiencing chest pain while in Adiala jail. Sources indicate that the former Chief Minister had been complaining of discomfort since the previous night and underwent a medical examination at the jail, revealing a heart problem and a concurrent chest infection.

Earlier this month, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) filed a corruption reference of over Rs1 billion against him, his son Moonis Elahi, and others.
