KP Reschedules Matric & Inter Exams Due to Ramadan

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced the rescheduling of the annual matriculation and intermediate exams, which were originally set to begin on March 5. The exams will now start on April 8, following Eid-ul-Fitr, as per the updated timetable released by the Peshawar Board.

The decision to delay the exams was made in consideration of the upcoming holy month of Ramadan. In an effort to accommodate students during this important religious time, the Chief Minister directed the Peshawar Board to revise the exam schedule.

In a separate development, the Sindh government has also taken action regarding the collection of fees by private schools. On January 10, the government instructed private schools not to charge June and July fees from students appearing in the matric exams this year.

Rafia Javed, Additional Director of Private Schools in Karachi, confirmed that complaints had been filed against some schools for demanding the extra fees. She stated that private schools are prohibited from collecting June and July fees from students who will be appearing for their matric exams in March 2025. Students are only required to pay fees up to April 2025.
