Junaid Akbar Khan Elected Unopposed as PAC Chairman

ISLAMABAD: Junaid Akbar Khan of PTI has been elected unopposed as the new chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC). The decision was made during an emergency meeting, which aimed to finalize the appointment. The meeting brought together members from both the government and the opposition, including prominent figures like PTI leaders Shibli Faraz, Opposition Leader Omer Ayub, and PML-N’s Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry.

The nomination of Junaid Akbar Khan received broad support, with members like Riaz Fatyana, Aamir Dogar, and Wajiha Qamar backing his candidacy. His election was seen as a consensus decision, with the PTI agreeing to take on the PAC chairmanship as part of an arrangement between the government and opposition.

After being elected, Junaid Akbar Khan expressed his gratitude and pledged to work with all PAC members. He assured them of his commitment to leading the committee effectively. The PAC plays a vital role in monitoring government spending and ensuring financial accountability.
