FIFA Suspends Pakistan Football Federation Over Constitutional Dispute
KARACHI: FIFA has suspended the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) after its congress refused to adopt amendments recommended by FIFA and the AFC. The suspension bars Pakistan’s teams from international competitions and halts FIFA’s financial support.
The dispute arose over proposed changes to the PFF Constitution aimed at ensuring fair elections. PFF’s congress rejected these amendments, leading to immediate suspension.
PFF Normalisation Committee Chairman Haroon Malik confirmed the development while briefing the National Assembly’s standing committee. He warned that Pakistan would lose international participation until the issue is resolved.
