No Need to Panic: VPN Use with Online Banking is Secure

Islamabad, – No Need to Panic: VPN Use with Online Banking is Secure, Recent viral posts on Pakistani social media have raised concerns about the safety of using Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) for online banking transactions. However, experts have come forward to debunk the myth, assuring users that VPNs are safe to use for online banking.

The posts claimed that using a VPN while transferring or receiving funds online exposes users to hacking risks. However, cybersecurity experts have clarified that VPNs actually enhance online security and protect users’ data.

“A VPN encrypts your internet traffic, making it difficult for hackers to intercept your data,” said a cybersecurity expert. “Using a VPN for online banking is actually a recommended practice to ensure the security of your transactions.”

The State Bank of Pakistan has also issued a statement, reassuring users that online banking transactions are secure and that VPNs do not pose a risk.

“We have robust security measures in place to protect our customers’ data,” said a spokesperson for the State Bank. “Users can confidently use online banking services, with or without a VPN, without worrying about their security.”

Users are advised to ignore the misinformation and continue using VPNs for online banking transactions, as they provide an additional layer of security and privacy.
