Private Sector Workers Protest against Salary Tax Hike

Rawalpindi: Private sector employees, including many women, staged a significant protest on Siskath Road against the recent budget increase in salary tax. The demonstration, held at the bustling Sixth Road Satellite Town, saw a diverse group of protesters voicing their discontent with the new tax measures.

Chanting slogans and brandishing banners condemning the tax hike, the protesters criticized the government for adding financial burdens to an already strained salaried class. They argued that rising inflation and skyrocketing utility bills have already strained their budgets, and the additional tax increases are viewed as a punitive measure.

The demonstrators expressed frustration over how the new tax rates will further diminish their ability to manage basic living expenses. Employed women particularly highlighted the impact on household budgets, emphasizing that the increased tax will reduce their already stretched salaries.
The protestors called on the government to reverse the tax hike and provide relief to the working class to help them cope with their daily financial challenges.
