PCB Chairman Naqvi to Delegate Powers to Waqar Younis
Pakistan (Sports Reporter):Waqar Younis to be Given Significant Role in PCB In a significant move, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has decided to delegate some of his powers to former pacer and veteran cricketer Waqar Younis. According to sources reported by Geo News on Tuesday, Younis will now have the authority to manage matters related to both international and domestic cricket, the selection committee, and players’ No Objection Certificates (NOCs).

Sources further mentioned that Younis will oversee cricket-related matters, while PCB chief Naqvi, who also serves as the country’s interior minister, will concentrate on the board’s administrative tasks. This includes preparations for the upcoming 2025 Champions Trophy, which Pakistan is scheduled to host between February and March next year.
Under the decision-making role likely to be given to the ex-cricketer, he would have the authority to deal with various matters related to international and domestic cricket, the selection committee and the issue of No Objection Certificates (NOCs) of the players.
PCB Plans Major Boost for Domestic Cricket: Chairman Mohsin Naqvi
As per the PCB Constitution of 2014, the chairman has the authority to delegate his powers, enabling Younis to make all decisions related to the team.
Earlier this month, the chairman met with over two dozen former and current Pakistani cricketers to discuss the future of cricket in the country.
He stated that four-day cricket would be prioritized, coaches would receive more education, and qualified coaches would be hired.
The chairman also mentioned that five domestic teams will be formed, each with its own coach and mentor.
