Swat Child Shines in International Quran Competition

10-Year-Old from Swat Excels in International Quran Recitation, Wins Prize in Algeria

A 10-year-old boy from Swat, Pakistan, has gained recognition by achieving fourth place in the International Quran Recitation Competition, “Mazamir Dawood,” held in Algeria.

Organized by the private media channel Echorouk, the competition ran from August 18 to 31 and included participants from over 15 countries.

Muhammad Bashar’s outstanding performance earned him a prize of $1,500, underscoring the strong cultural and spiritual connections between Pakistan and Algeria.

The annual event highlighted the skills of young Quran reciters from around the world. Additionally, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments of Algeria hosted another significant competition under the patronage of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
