Sharjeel Memon Slams Bus Operators for Resisting Terminal Shift Despite Free Shuttle

Sindh Transport Department to Ensure Smooth and Legal Operations

Karachi(Asad Ali)-Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to transferring bus terminals outside Karachi city limits, despite resistance from some bus operators. The move aims to eliminate illegal bus stands from city roads and ensure smooth transport operations.

Memon stated that the transport department is working to uphold the rule of law and comply with court orders. He emphasized that the establishment of bus terminals outside the city is in accordance with court directives and urged all stakeholders to respect and cooperate with the law.

The minister acknowledged the challenges faced by transporters and assured that the government is working to resolve citizens’ issues without adversely affecting transporters’ businesses. He confirmed that negotiations with transporters will continue, with measures being taken to consider the interests of all stakeholders.

Despite some operators filing cases on false grounds and attempting to exert pressure, Memon vowed that the terminal transfer will proceed under all circumstances. The Sindh government is committed to ensuring a smooth and legal transport system in the capital city.
