Rear Admiral Jawad Ahmed Assumes Command as Commander Central Punjab (COMCEP)

The event was attended by officers, CPOs, sailors, and civilian personnel of the Pakistan Navy.

Lahore: Rear Admiral Jawad Ahmed has officially taken over as the Commander Central Punjab (COMCEP), overseeing all Pakistan Navy units from Bahawalpur to Wazirabad. In addition to his new command, Rear Admiral Ahmed also serves as the Commandant of the Pakistan Navy War College in Lahore.

Commissioned in the Operations Branch of the Pakistan Navy in 1992, Rear Admiral Ahmed has had a distinguished career, holding numerous key command and staff positions. These include roles as Personal Staff Officer to the Vice Chief of Naval Staff, Directing Staff at the Pakistan Navy War College, Commanding Officer of PNS SAIF, Defence Attaché in Malaysia, and Commander of the Surface Task Group-3. He has also served as Commandant of the Pakistan Naval Academy, Commander West at Gwadar, Hydrographer of Pakistan, Chairman of the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC), Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (T&P), and Director General C4I at Naval Headquarters.

Rear Admiral Ahmed is a graduate of the Pakistan Navy War College Lahore, Defence Services Command and Staff College Bangladesh, and the National Defence University Islamabad. He has been awarded the prestigious Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military) for his exceptional services to the nation.

The Change of Command ceremony took place at the Naval Complex Walton in Lahore, where Rear Admiral Azhar Mahmood handed over the command to Rear Admiral Ahmed. The new Commander Central Punjab was presented with a Guard of Honour and was introduced to the staff officers at Headquarters COMCEP.
