The program will facilitate the distribution of 9,500 tractors to landowners who manage up to 50 acres of land. Each tractor will come with a substantial subsidy of one million rupees. The distribution of these tractors will be conducted through a lottery system, with the first draw scheduled to take place between September 20 and October 20. In a significant move to improve healthcare for children, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz approved the Children’s Heart Surgery Program. This initiative aims to address the backlog of 12,000 pending heart surgeries for children. The program will prioritize clearing these surgeries as quickly as possible to ensure that children receive the critical care they need.
To enhance the program’s effectiveness, Chief Minister Nawaz has directed the health minister to closely monitor its implementation. 2. Kite Flying Ordinance 2001
In a bid to curb the dangers associated with kite flying, especially during festive seasons, the cabinet approved an increase in penalties under the Kite Flying Ordinance of 2001. The revised penalties include imprisonment ranging from two to five years and fines for individuals involved in kite flying and related activities. This move is intended to address the risks associated with kite flying, such as injuries and property damage, and promote safer practices during kite flying events.
Additional Approvals
1. Establishment of Punjab’s First Provincial Life Insurance Company
The cabinet also gave its nod for the establishment of Punjab’s first provincial life insurance company. This new entity aims to provide life insurance services to residents of Punjab, offering them financial protection and security. The creation of this company reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing financial services and providing more comprehensive support to the people of the province.
