Punjab Govt Launches Kisan Card Registration for Small Farmers in Faisalabad Division

Bank of Punjab’s Agriculture Head, Shehbaz Ahmed, announced interest-free loans amounting to one and a half lakh rupees for eligible farmers.

FAISALABAD, The Punjab government has initiated the registration process for Kisan Cards in Faisalabad Division. Spearheaded by Director of Agriculture Extension Department, Chaudhry Khalid Mehmood, the scheme aims to benefit cultivators with land holdings under 100 kanals.

During a pivotal meeting with stakeholders, Director Mehmood outlined the application procedure, emphasizing that farmers must send a text message from their mobile numbers registered under their own names.

Bank of Punjab‘s Agriculture Head, Shehbaz Ahmed, announced interest-free loans amounting to one and a half lakh rupees for eligible farmers. These loans will facilitate timely acquisition of agricultural necessities such as equipment, fertilizers, and seeds.

The meeting witnessed a diverse representation of stakeholders, including Secretary Information Anjuman Kashtakaran Punjab, Rana Muhammad Khan Bhatti, and eminent figures like Dr. Muhammad Zafar from Ayub Agricultural Research Institute and Chaudhry Tariq Kamboh from the Fertilizer Association Faisalabad.

Other key participants included officials from the Agricultural Extension Department, Bank of Punjab, and various agricultural experts and dealers.

With the launch of the Kisan Card registration and provision of interest-free loans, the Punjab government underscores its commitment to uplift the farming community.
