PTA Launches Initiative for IP and VPN Registration
Boosting Internet Connectivity and Security for Freelancers, Businesses, and Embassies
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has introduced a new initiative aimed at registering IP addresses and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) to ensure smooth internet access for freelancers, businesses, and foreign embassies in Pakistan.
The initiative is intended to improve both connectivity and security for users, with the PTA urging foreign missions to quickly register their VPNs to prevent any potential service interruptions.
The registration process is free and typically takes two to three days after verification by the internet service provider. However, users requiring more than five IP addresses will need to pay a fee for IP whitelisting.
Additionally, servers located outside Pakistan that cater to local users must also be registered as part of this program.
The PTA’s efforts aim to simplify internet usage while ensuring adherence to national regulations and protecting users from cybersecurity risks.
