Polio Awareness Campaign Launched by Rotaract Club in Khairpur

Students Participate in Educational Activities, Best Teacher Award Presented to School Principal

Khairpur (PR) – The Rotaract Club of Khairpur United organized a lecture at Ghani Public Elementary School, Kolab Jial, as part of a “Prevent Polio” awareness campaign. Club President Marvi Soomro, in a video message, emphasized that administering the polio vaccine can safeguard children today and the youth of tomorrow from permanent disability. She urged parents to give polio drops to their children as an expression of love. Addressing opponents of the campaign, she questioned whether they had any proof that the polio vaccine had harmed a child.

Club trainer Habib Asim pointed out that while polio has been eradicated in many countries, Pakistan still reports cases, primarily due to a lack of awareness. He encouraged the students to actively participate in the effort to eliminate polio from Pakistan.

During the event, Abdul Salam Abro, on behalf of the club, presented the Best Teacher Award to the school’s principal, Gulshan Ali Abro, in recognition of his educational contributions. He emphasized the importance of exposing children to both domestic and international literature. He encouraged students to read books in English, Urdu, and Sindhi and to take on social roles.

The event also included educational, historical, and general knowledge quizzes for the students. Those who answered correctly were awarded shirts, caps, bags, badges, and stickers as prizes.

Principal Gulshan Ali Abro expressed gratitude to the club members, saying he was touched by the appreciation shown. He expressed hope that the students would make significant contributions and bring honor to the country.
