PM Shehbaz Orders Fast-Track Completion of Business Centres

PM also vowed to take strict action against human traffickers.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed officials to expedite the construction of business facilitation centres to boost foreign investment in Pakistan. During a meeting to review ongoing projects under the Board of Investment (BoI), the prime minister emphasized the need for a comprehensive and effective roadmap to finalize agreements with international investors and implement signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs).

PM Shehbaz highlighted the urgency of accelerating regulatory reforms to create a conducive business environment, urging the team to set achievable investment targets. He stressed the importance of effective marketing and the need for roadshows and business-to-business agreements to attract foreign investors. The prime minister underscored the role of initiatives like business facilitation centres in promoting external investment.

In a separate development, PM Shehbaz also vowed to take strict action against human traffickers. Addressing the issue of human trafficking, the premier expressed his concern over the recent tragedy linked to human smuggling. He ordered immediate investigations and the submission of solid proposals to address the issue. PM Shehbaz further instructed that strict action be taken against FIA officers found to be involved in human trafficking, following reports of negligence in handling such cases.
