PM Praises International Community’s Role in 2005 Earthquake Relief

PM Distributes Relief Funds to Kashmiri Migrant Families,

Muzaffarabad-(Special Correspondent)-Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq, recently distributed checks worth five lakh rupees to post-90s Kashmiri migrant families as part of a housing project aimed at removing their sense of deprivation. The initiative, which includes the construction of 750 houses, is part of the government’s plan to settle these families on a permanent basis.

During the check distribution ceremony, attended by senior ministers and officials, the Prime Minister emphasized that the migrant community should consider themselves first-class citizens of the state rather than refugees. He praised the people of Azad Kashmir for embracing the migrant community and noted the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability.

The housing project involves paying Rs 38 lakh per household in six installments, with 375 houses to be built in the first year and another 375 in the second year, totaling Rs 3096.050 million. The Prime Minister also acknowledged the international community’s role in supporting the region, particularly during the 2005 earthquake relief efforts.

In a separate message, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude to countries that aided Azad Kashmir during the earthquake, highlighting the region’s recovery and rebuilding of infrastructure, including roads, educational institutions, and hospitals. The government aims to provide basic amenities and modern facilities to every city and village in Azad Kashmir.

Additionally, Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq has taken steps to address unemployment, establishing an Endowment Fund worth three billion rupees to provide interest-free loans to skilled youth in Azad Kashmir. This initiative is part of the government’s efforts to support the public and the state, despite Pakistan’s economic challenges.

The Prime Minister’s efforts demonstrate his commitment to improving the lives of Azad Kashmir’s citizens, particularly those affected by displacement and natural disasters. By providing housing, financial support, and employment opportunities, the government hopes to create a more stable and prosperous future for the region.
