Pakistan Army Tops National Junior Taekwondo Championship 2024-25 in Faisalabad

Faisalabad— The National Junior Taekwondo Championship 2024–25, organized by the Pakistan Taekwondo Federation under the supervision of the Punjab Taekwondo Association, concluded successfully at the Women Sports Complex, Agricultural University Faisalabad, from June 21 to 23.

The three-day national event saw enthusiastic participation from across Pakistan, including teams from Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), and leading departmental teams such as Pakistan Army, WAPDA, Railways, and Pakistan Air Force.

The opening ceremony was graced by Dr. Najma Afzal, former MNA, as the chief guest. She was joined by notable dignitaries including Mr. Murtaza Hassan Bangash, Secretary General of the Pakistan Taekwondo Federation; Dr. Izhar ul Haq, Secretary Punjab Taekwondo Association; Mr. Manzar Shah, Divisional Sports Officer Faisalabad; and Mr. Atif Bhatti, Director Sports, Agricultural University Faisalabad.

Competition Highlights

The championship featured ten categories, comprising five Khyrougi (sparring) and five Poomsae (pattern performance) events.

  • In the Khyrougi division, teams from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) and Pakistan Army dominated, each clinching three gold medals for their exceptional sparring performances.

  • In the Poomsae category, Pakistan Army asserted complete dominance, securing all five gold medals, reaffirming their expertise in the discipline.

Final Standings:

🥇 1st Place – Pakistan Army
🥈 2nd Place – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK)
🥉 3rd Place – WAPDA

Closing Ceremony

The championship concluded with a colorful medal and trophy distribution ceremony, where Mr. Atif Bhatti lauded the efforts of young athletes and praised their discipline, dedication, and sportsmanship.
