Armed robbers fatally shoot Faisal in Surjani Town, steal motorbike and Rs80,000.

Karachi witnessed another tragic street crime incident as a man named Faisal was fatally shot while resisting a robbery in Surjani Town, Sector 36. Faisal was approached by armed robbers who attempted to steal his motorbike, but after refusing to comply, he was shot by the assailants. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Faisal succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

According to Geo News, Faisal was returning home with his brother after completing their factory shifts and collecting their salaries. The robbers not only stole their motorbike but also took Rs80,000 from the brothers before fleeing the scene.

Faisal’s father expressed profound grief, lamenting the frequent occurrence of robberies in their neighborhood. His family was devastated by the loss, emphasizing how street crime has escalated to dangerous levels in the area.

The Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) revealed alarming statistics, reporting over 50,000 street crime incidents in Karachi between January and August of this year, with numerous cases likely going unreported. On average, 208 crimes are reported daily, with mobile phones, cars, and motorbikes being the most common targets.

This year alone, nearly 100 people have lost their lives in street crimes, and nearly 500 others have been injured by gunfire during such incidents. The rising tide of crime has left many residents fearing for their safety, as street crimes continue to spiral out of control.
