Islamabad to Be Transformed into World-Class City
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi imposed a ban on the purchase of petrol-powered motorcycles.
Islamabad: Major decisions have been made to transform the federal capital, Islamabad, into a world-class city.
In a meeting chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, key measures were approved to elevate the city’s standards.
The meeting resolved that the CDA will now only purchase electric bikes to reduce environmental pollution. Additionally, eco-friendly electric buses will be introduced for Islamabad residents.

He emphasized that residents of Islamabad will receive international-standard emergency services, with these services being transferred from MCI to CDA. The establishment of Capital WASA and the finalization of the Capital Waste Management Company are also on the agenda.
Minister Naqvi instructed that construction work on the Serena Chowk Underpass and F-9 Park Chowk Flyover projects commence promptly, and the long-pending Expressway project be expedited. Development work in non-developed sectors will be completed, and possession handed over to the people.
He announced that the first phase of the Islamabad Model Jail will be completed within the stipulated time. Business facilitation centers are being set up in Islamabad to provide investors with comprehensive services under one roof, and land has been allotted for a Health Tower in Sector H-16.
On this occasion, the Interior Minister congratulated the CDA Chairman and his team on record tax collection.
Naqvi noted that selling plots and land alone cannot sustain an institution. It is essential to enhance the institution’s assets, and an investment plan should be prepared and presented within seven days.
