Global Peace Hinges on Resolution of Palestine, Kashmir Disputes: Tarar”

International community must recognize gravity of disputes and work towards just solutions

New York-Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting, National Heritage and Culture Attaullah Tarar has emphasized that durable peace in the world is not possible without a permanent resolution of the Palestine and Kashmir disputes.

Addressing a seminar in Islamabad, Tarar reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to supporting the struggles of the Palestinian and Kashmiri people for their right to self-determination.

“The international community must recognize the gravity of these disputes and work towards a just and lasting solution,” Tarar stressed. “The people of Palestine and Kashmir have suffered for far too long, and their rights must be respected.”

Tarar highlighted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vocal stance on these issues on the international stage, emphasizing the need for accountability for war crimes committed in Palestine and the restoration of pre-1967 borders with Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine.

Pakistan has consistently supported the Palestinian cause, providing humanitarian aid and advocating for a two-state solution. The minister also highlighted Pakistan’s efforts to provide educational opportunities to Palestinian students.

Regarding Kashmir, Tarar condemned India’s August 2019 decision to revoke Article 370, which granted special status to the disputed territory. He urged the international community to take notice of human rights abuses committed by Indian forces in Kashmir.

“The people of Kashmir have been subjected to unimaginable suffering, with curfews, pellet guns, and extrajudicial killings becoming the norm,” Tarar said. “Pakistan demands an immediate end to these atrocities and a plebiscite to determine the will of the Kashmiri people.”

Tarar also praised the United Nations’ role in promoting peace and security, particularly in resolving disputes like Palestine and Kashmir. He called on the international community to work together to address these pressing issues.

“Pakistan will continue to raise its voice for the oppressed people of Palestine and Kashmir,” Tarar concluded. “We urge the world to join us in demanding justice and peace for these troubled regions.”

The seminar was attended by diplomats, scholars, and representatives from various international organizations. It aimed to raise awareness about the Palestine and Kashmir conflicts and promote dialogue on possible solutions.

Experts at the seminar emphasized the need for a multi-pronged approach to resolve these disputes, involving diplomatic efforts, economic pressure, and grassroots mobilization.

“The international community must move beyond rhetoric and take concrete steps to address these conflicts,” said Dr. Muhammad Khan, a leading expert on Middle East affairs. “The stakes are high, but with collective action, we can achieve lasting peace.”
