Gandapur Secures Successful Outcome in Talks with Pashtun Qaumi Adalat

Provincial Government and Jirga Organizers Agree on Peaceful Presentation of Demands

Talks between the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and the organizers of the upcoming three-day Pashtun National Jirga (also known as the Pashtun Qoumi Adalat) were successfully concluded just before the Jirga’s scheduled start in Jamrud, Khyber District.

The provincial government announced that the late-night discussions resulted in an agreement allowing the Jirga to present its demands peacefully. Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur promised his full support, committing to personally advocate for the Jirga’s demands and work toward fulfilling them.

In a phone interview, Provincial Minister Pakhtun Yar Khan confirmed the agreement, emphasizing the shared objectives of peace, development, and prosperity. He stated that the Jirga would be allowed to proceed, provided its participants respect the law and constitution.

Khan stressed that the Jirga represents the collective voice of the Pashtun people, not any individual, and reaffirmed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) commitment to peaceful solutions for Pashtun issues, rejecting any form of violence. He highlighted the constructive nature of the negotiations and indicated that further actions would follow.

Khan also extended condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in recent incidents in the Khyber District and wished a quick recovery for the injured. The negotiations included Chief Minister Gandapur, other provincial ministers, district administration officials, and PTI representatives, including Manzoor Ahmad Pashtin and Haji Samad Khan.
