Modi Has No Evidence Linking Pakistan to Pahalgam Attack;Former Indian Home Minister

Chidambaram emphasized that the attackers were in fact Indians who had received terrorist training within India itself.

Mumbai – Former Indian Home Minister and senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram has stated that there is no evidence linking Pakistan to the recent Pahalgam attack, asserting instead that the perpetrators were Indian nationals.

Criticizing the Modi government, Chidambaram questioned the hasty attribution of the attack to Pakistan. “Why does the Indian government immediately assume they came from Pakistan? Has the government verified their nationality?” he asked.

Chidambaram emphasized that the attackers were in fact Indians who had received terrorist training within India itself. He called for a more responsible and fact-based approach rather than politically motivated blame.

Speaking on international humanitarian concerns, Chidambaram also condemned the ongoing violence in Gaza. “Humanity stands ashamed in Gaza,” he said, highlighting the daily loss of dozens of lives, including many women and children who have no connection to the origins of the conflict.
