FIA Director Accused of Harassment, Forced Marriage, and Abuse by Subordinate Officer

Islamabad: In a shocking and distressing turn of events, Humayun Masood, Director of the Counter-Terrorism Wing (CTW) of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), has been accused of harassing, coercing into marriage, and subjecting a subordinate female officer to severe physical and mental abuse.

The female officer, an Assistant Director at the FIA, has filed a formal complaint with the Federal Ombudsman for Women’s Harassment Protection, detailing her allegations against Masood. According to the complainant, Masood used his senior position to harass, threaten, and force her into a relationship against her will.

She claims that after being coerced into marriage, Masood imposed oppressive conditions on her, including forbidding her from having children and pressuring her to keep their relationship secret. The officer alleges that shortly after their marriage, Masood began physically abusing her and, when she became pregnant, forced her to undergo an abortion.

The complainant also recounts a harrowing incident on December 20, 2024, when she was allegedly abducted from the FIA’s official residence on Masood’s orders by the Islamabad police. She was taken to a women’s police station in a nightgown, barefoot, and without a blanket, where she endured physical and mental torture. Her mobile phone was confiscated, and her father was reportedly forced to sign a blank document for her release.

The officer further claims that Masood filed a false case against her, arranged for her transfer, and restricted her access to her office and residence while removing her personal belongings without permission.

The complainant has appealed to senior authorities to take swift action against Masood and restore her dignity. The case, which has raised serious concerns about the integrity of national institutions like the FIA, is currently under investigation. The initial hearing took place on January 1, 2025, at the Federal Ombudsman’s office, where the petition was accepted for further investigation.
