Mr Ouj-e-Zahoor, General Secretary, Federal Basketball Association (FBBA) has revealed the schedule of the National Basketball Women’s Championship, which will be played from October 3 to 7, 2022 at Laiquat Gymnasium, Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad. On 3rd October Islamabad will face Lahore in the opening fixture of the championship which will be held under the aegis of Pakistan Basketball Federation (PBBF).
According to Mr.Ouj-e-Zahoor, General Secretary of FBBA, as many as eight teams will fight for the top honour during the five day national basketball competitions. Eight teams have been divided into two pools, as the Pakistan WAPDA, Karachi, Rawalpindi and Quetta are bracketed in Pool A while Pakistan Army, Lahore, Peshawar and hosts Federal Basketball Association are placed in Pool B.
Each two teams from both groups will qualify for the semifinals, which will be played on October 6 at the same venue while 3rd position play-off and final will be played on October 7, 2022. Brig (Retd) M Iftikhar Mansoor, President and Mr Khalid Bashir, General Secretary, Pakistan Basketball Federation also witness prominent matches of the Championship. The programme of opening and closing ceremonies is being finalized.
