Lahore -The Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) has achieved a historic milestone by recording a remarkable increase of Rs. 925 million in income for the fiscal year 2024-25, raising its total annual revenue to Rs. 5.65 billion. This marks a significant rise compared to Rs. 4.72 billion in 2023-24 and Rs. 3.42 billion in 2022-23.
In addition to the financial growth, the ETPB successfully retrieved 6,578 acres, 9 kanals, and 7 marlas of evacuee trust land—valued at approximately Rs. 74 billion—that had been under illegal occupation. Furthermore, the department recovered Rs. 1.02 billion in outstanding rent dues from defaulters across its seven operational zones nationwide, further strengthening its financial standing and administrative control.
According to Board Secretary Fareed Iqbal, every possible effort was made to achieve the targets set in the annual budget. Key contributors to this success include revised policies, strict actions against land grabbers, and the implementation of online billing and a modern system, which significantly boosted income in rent, lease, and development sectors.
As per departmental statistics:
Lahore Zone recovered Rs. 77.455 million
Nankana Zone: Rs. 266.122 million
Gujranwala Zone: Rs. 60.752 million
Rawalpindi Zonal Office: Rs. 214.819 million
Faisalabad Zone: Rs. 36.681 million
Multan Zone: Rs. 185.349 million
Karachi Zone: Rs. 161.471 million
Islamabad Zone: Rs. 18.369 million
Secretary Fareed Iqbal assigned specific tasks to all Administrators and Deputy Administrators in monthly performance meetings. Under his direct supervision, operations were launched against illegal encroachments on trust lands in districts like Karachi, Sukkur, Hyderabad, Nankana Sahib, Lahore, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Multan, and others. These actions resulted in the recovery of land worth billions of rupees, registration of multiple FIRs, and setbacks for land mafias.
The foundation of this strategic vision was laid by the former Chairman of the Board and current Federal Secretary for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Dr. Syed Ata ur Rehman, who declared the protection of evacuee properties as a national responsibility in line with federal government directives.
ETPB Chairman Dr. Sajid Mahmood Chauhan provided robust administrative leadership, while Secretary Fareed Iqbal took a hands-on approach—mobilizing field teams, digitizing systems, and ensuring transparency in recoveries. His consistent follow-up and supervision greatly enhanced the Board’s performance.
In addition, under Supreme Court directives, the FIA played a key role in operations against illegal occupiers, further strengthening the process. Monthly reporting and transparent monitoring have made the entire system more accountable and effective.
This success was not accidental—it is the result of tireless effort, modern technology, and strategic planning.
