ECP issued affidavits to ensure women’s seats in general elections

Islamabad: (Staff Reporter) The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) issued affidavits to ensure women’s representation in the general elections. The affidavit will be submitted by the political party leaders, and at least 5 percent of seats will be given to women.
According to the source, election commission, it will be a requirement for National and Provincial Assembly elections, as per the election act 2017, sections 206 and 215.
Furthermore ECP invited political parties to file applications
As per details the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) invited political parties to file applications for allotment of election symbols. The commission has bound the parties to submit applications signed by the party heads, and declare priority symbol by Feb 21.
