On July 8, Additional IG Sohail Zafar Chattha tweeted:
“It is a welcome development that those involved in the world of crime are repenting. CCD Punjab will review its policy regarding them while observing their future actions. CCD takes action against any individual only after obtaining solid material evidence and other testimonies.”
This highlights two key commitments:
-
Support for Rehabilitation – A willingness to consider leniency for repentant criminals, subject to strict evidence-based protocols.
-
Commitment to Due Process – Actions will be taken only when backed by rigorous evidence and testimonies.
