Can’t tolerate cross-border terrorism: PM Shehbaz Sharif

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif Expresses Confidence in Cabinet’s Performance.

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has expressed hope that the current cabinet will live up to the trust of the people of Pakistan regarding its performance and responsibility.

Speaking at a federal cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif welcomed all respected ministers and government officials, expressing his hope that the cabinet would earn the trust of the people of Pakistan through its performance and accountability.

He stated, “Today, we first pay homage to the martyrs and their great parents and families who bravely faced terrorists just a few days ago and sent all those terrorists to hell and embraced martyrdom.”

Shahbaz Sharif emphasized, “I understand that there is no greater example of love, sacrifice, and devotion to the country than this. Quran recitation was held for the martyrs on this occasion.”

He said, “There is no doubt that terrorism, which was raised about 10 to 15 years ago, has been completely eradicated as a result of great sacrifices, and I believe that perhaps no other example can be found in the world in the present era.”

Shahbaz Sharif added, “Almost 70 to 80 thousand Pakistanis offered their lives, including officers of the Pakistan Army, soldiers, their children, law enforcement agencies, and people from every walk of life.”

He stated, “Unfortunately, a few years ago terrorism raised its head again, and the reality is that after such great sacrifices and after spending endless resources, the return of terrorism is unacceptable in any way. Now, once again, we are facing them with our heads held high.”

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said, “A few days ago, I met with the parents and families of Lieutenant Colonel Kashif and Captain Ahmad Badr, and believe me, their courage has renewed my faith.”

He said, “I have assured them that the Government of Pakistan and the Pakistan Army are determined to eliminate terrorism, and this will happen, God willing. Along with that, I have assured them that we cannot tolerate the terrorism coming from across the border anymore; Pakistan’s borders are the red line against terrorism.”

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said, “We want to live in an extremely peaceful environment with our neighboring brotherly countries, we want to strengthen all kinds of mutual relations, but if unfortunately, the land of neighboring countries is used for terrorism, then now this is not acceptable.”

He emphasized, “It should be very clear that we will not tolerate any kind of terrorism from across the border in any way. I will urge our neighboring brotherly countries to come and sit together, prepare a plan of action against terrorism, and work together with sincerity for its eradication. This is the only way to establish peace in the region, to eradicate poverty and unemployment, and no other plan can work.”

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said, “I am confident that our neighboring and friendly countries will seriously consider my suggestion, and together we will make the region a cradle of peace.”

He said, “I have been told by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) team that they are satisfied with the agreement reached with the IMF, and the Finance Minister will trust you on this.”

He said, “The IMF team is satisfied with the agreement reached, and we need a new program, not in happiness but in compulsion. We have to revive our economic foundation, we have to put it on our feet, and we have to get rid of debts slowly. The only way to do this is to take investment and make Pakistan’s environment compatible for it.”
