Heavy Snowfall in Murree Causes Traffic Disruption, Tourists Stranded
Murree Expressway, a coaster carrying passengers from Rawalpindi to Murree has also been stranded due to the heavy snowfall.
Murree: Severe snowfall in the Murree region has led to several vehicles getting stuck on various roads, including the Murree Expressway, causing distress for many travelers, especially families with children.
Due to the challenging weather conditions, authorities have halted the entry of tourists from Islamabad to Murree as a precautionary measure. The Murree Expressway near Dina has been particularly affected, with traffic congestion and stranded vehicles adding to the chaos.
In addition to the Murree Expressway, a coaster carrying passengers from Rawalpindi to Murree has also been stranded due to the heavy snowfall. Passengers, including children and women, are facing difficulties amid the cold weather conditions.
The Lower Topa to Sarai Bagla section of the Siri Nagar Highway is also experiencing traffic congestion, prompting tourists to appeal to the authorities for urgent measures to alleviate the situation.
Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Irfan Mehmood, has stated that the decision to restrict tourist entry to Murree was made after consultation with the Murree administration. He further added that considering the large number of tourists already present in Murree, entry will be allowed once the situation improves.

DC Islamabad emphasized that while there is a decrease in the intensity of snowfall in Murree, authorities are closely monitoring the situation and will permit tourist entry as soon as conditions become favorable.
Despite the challenges posed by the heavy snowfall, authorities are working diligently to ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals affected by the adverse weather conditions in Murree.
