Punjab budget to be presented on Monday

 MOHSIN NAQVI VISITS THQ HOSPITAL MURREE

 CM gives charge of Tourism, Archeology, Museum to Amir Mir

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab’s budget for four months of the next financial year is likely to be presented tomorrow by the caretaker government.

The new development schemes will be subject to the permission of the Election Commission of Pakistan.

It was recommended to allow Rs325 billion for the development schemes in the budget – Rs20 billion for health cards, projects from international funding to be given Rs27 billion, Rs20 billion for agriculture and Rs100 billion for health and education.

Also, specifically, it is recommended to allocate Rs70 billion for health, Rs28 billion for school education, Rs10 billion for higher education, Rs1 billion for development projects for special education, Rs 12 billion for urban development, Rs 7 billion for clean water and sewage drainage schemes, Rs6 billion for transport sector and Rs1.5 billion for emergency services.

Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi visited Tehsil Headquarter Hospital Murree and Control Room established in Jinnah Hall today. Mohsin Naqvi reviewed treatment facilities being provided to the patients in the hospital and made a detailed inspection of Emergency, OPD, Mother and Child Ward, Pharmacy and other departments. Mohsin Naqvi inquired after the patients and asked about medical facilities being provided to them. Mohsin Naqvi also inspected the extended project building of the hospital and directed early functionalization of the building. Caretaker CM Mohsin Naqvi expressed his severe indignation over closure of few departments in the hospital and ordered to open closed departments forthwith. Mohsin Naqvi by taking prompt notice of the shortage of nurses in the hospital directed to overcome shortage of nurses at the earliest. Mohsin Naqvi asserted that the Health department should initiate the induction process of nurses on the vacant posts in the hospital immediately.

Mohsin Naqvi stated that only 6 nurses are discharging their duties on the 29 approved posts of nurses adding that no hospital can function 24 hours with 6 nurses.CM stated that direction has been issued to the Provincial Minister for Primary and Secondary Healthcare Doctor Jamal Nasir to improve healthcare facilities adding that Doctor Jamal Nasir will remain present in Murree till improvement of hospital affairs. Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that the residents of Murree and tourists will be provided better health and treatment facilities and dialysis machines will  be made functional in the hospital.

Caretaker CM Mohsin Naqvi also visited the Control Room established in the Jinnah Hall and met with the staff members present over there. Mohsin Naqvi scolded staff members of the Control Room over getting non- functional of cameras for the monitoring of Murree and ordered to submit a report after making the cameras functional within 24 hours. Mohsin Naqvi revealed that facilities for the tourists visiting Murree will further be improved. Mohsin Naqvi stressed that there is a need to improve the parking facility for the tourists in Murree. Mohsin Naqvi ordered to take effective measures for the eradication of overcharging in Murree. Caretaker CM Mohsin Naqvi listened to the complaints of citizens in Murree and issued orders to resolve them promptly. Caretaker CM Mohsin Naqvi issued directions to Commissioner Rawalpindi division for the improvement of healthcare and tourism facilities in Murree. Provincial Information Minister Amir Mir also accompanied him.

 

Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi Sunday gave the charge of the Ministry of Tourism, Archeology and Museum to his caretaker cabinet member Amir Mir.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, Punjab Services Department has issued the formal notification of Amir Mir’s more responsibilities in the cabinet.
It is worth mentioning that Amir Mir is already paying responsibilities in the caretaker government as the information minister.
