Imran Khan Summons Ali Amin Over Concerns on Mines & Minerals Bill
Khan Directs Salman Akram Raja to Write to Chief Justice on Legal Delays and Abuse of Bushra Bibi
RAWALPINDI — Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, currently incarcerated in Adiala Jail, has summoned Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur for a meeting over concerns regarding the controversial Mines and Minerals Bill. Khan expressed strong reservations about the bill, which has sparked significant controversy within the party and among political circles.
Sources revealed that during a meeting with lawyers on Tuesday, Khan voiced his frustrations about the bill and its potential implications. He directed PTI Information Secretary Waqas Akram to issue a blunt response to recent statements made by PTI leader Sher Afzal Marwat, accusing him of being “planted” within the party. Khan’s anger was also directed at Marwat’s criticism, which he deemed unfounded.
In addition to his frustrations with Marwat, Imran Khan criticized PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan for his apologetic stance on recent party matters. Khan emphasized the need for clarity on the Mines and Minerals Bill and instructed Gandapur to provide a detailed explanation.
The PTI founder also took the opportunity to discuss the upcoming PTI Foundation Day, scheduled for April 25, urging party leadership to resolve internal differences and strengthen the party’s unity. Khan expressed concerns over the government’s delayed talks with Afghanistan and the ongoing political challenges facing the country.
Furthermore, Khan directed PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja to write to the Chief Justice of Pakistan regarding the non-implementation of the law, particularly concerning the abuse of his wife, Bushra Bibi, and the delays in hearing their legal cases.
In a separate development, Khan’s meeting with his lawyers was marred by restrictions imposed by jail authorities, preventing several lawyers from meeting him. Despite being granted a list of six lawyers, only two, Naeem Haider Panjhuta and Usman Gul, were allowed to meet the PTI founder. Advocate Faisal Farid Chaudhry, speaking to the media after the meeting, confirmed that Khan’s health was stable but expressed frustration over the restrictions on family visits. Khan’s sisters, who arrived at Adiala Jail for a scheduled visit, were denied access after waiting for over two hours, citing the expiration of the meeting time.

Salman Akram Raja, speaking at the Gorakhpur checkpoint, criticized the ongoing restrictions on meetings with political colleagues and family members, calling it “childish coercion.” He highlighted the constitutional and legal violations that were taking place and stressed the need for greater transparency and fairness in the handling of these restrictions.
Khan’s legal and political issues remain a central point of focus, with the PTI founder continuing to push for reforms and fair treatment under the law while rallying for the interests of Pakistan and its people.
