Pakistan’s Foreign Exchange Reserves Exceed $16 Billion

During the week ending January 31, the country's foreign reserves increased by $46 million.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s total foreign exchange reserves surpassed the $16 billion mark at the close of last week, according to the latest data released by the State Bank of Pakistan.

The State Bank’s weekly report revealed that during the week ending January 31, 2025, the country’s foreign reserves increased by $46 million. As a result, the total foreign exchange reserves reached $16.04 billion.

The report indicates that the State Bank holds $11.41 billion, while commercial banks have reserves amounting to $4.62 billion. This growth in reserves is seen as a positive sign for Pakistan’s financial stability.
