Tajikistan and Iran to Introduce Visa-Free Regime from August 10

Tajikistan and Iran are set to introduce a visa-free regime for citizens of both countries, starting from August 10, 2024. The agreement, signed by the two governments, allows holders of general civil passports to visit each other’s countries without a visa for up to 30 days within a 90-day period.

The Memorandum of Understanding between the governments of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran on the abolition of visas for holders of general civil passports will come into force,” reads the statement.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained that according to the document, holders of general civil passports of the two countries have the right to visit the territory of the parties without a visa for a period of 30 days within 90 days from the date of first entry. At the first stage, the introduction of the visa-free system will be carried out only for those who use air traffic on the Dushanbe-Tehran and Tehran-Dushanbe routes.
