16 illegal refugees arrested in Quetta

Voluntary repatriation of illegal Afghan immigrants continues,
Campaign for registration of house servants and tenants data in full swing,
With just over a week left before the government’s deadline expires, crackdown against illegal refugees across Pakistan is underway.
Reports said that 16 illegal Afghan refugees were arrested in Quetta on Sunday.
Police sources said that 52 cases have been filed under the Foreign Act in the city so far.
A total of 270 illegal refugees have been arrested in the city so far and have been sent back across the border.
The federal government has fixed October 31 as deadline for illegal refugees to leave the country. Failing to do so will lead to expulsion and confiscation of assets.
The voluntary repatriation of Afghans residing illegally in Pakistan is continuing on a daily basis, Radio Pakistan has reported.
According to details, 4,423 Afghans returned to their country on Friday.
A total of 56,179 Afghan refugees have so far been repatriated. This will have a positive impact on the region.
The illegal Afghans living in Pakistan have been given a deadline of 31st October by the government to leave the country and now ten days are left for expiry of this deadline.

In Islamabad according to details, following the special orders of Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, the Islamabad Capital Police “Knock the Door” campaign for the registration of employees and tenants is in full swing, a public relations officer said.
He said that, during this campaign various teams of Islamabad Capital Police are going to the streets and door-to-door to ensure the registration of tenants and domestic workers as well as to inquire about the problems faced by the citizens.
In this regard, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Islamabad has registered a data of 210 house servants of 435 houses from Bara Kahu Police Station jurisdiction.
The purpose of this campaign is to avoid any untoward incident by maintaining law and order in the federal capital adding that the registration of tenants and domestic workers could not only keep a close watch on miscreants but also prevent the elements involved in any kind of suspicious activity.
He said citizens are also requested that they can ask for the identity of a person if someone dressed in civil clothes comes to their house in order to collect the data.
Unregistered employees and tenants could be involved in serious incidents like theft and robbery by impersonating as a common citizen and Islamabad Capital Police is trying to provide a safe environment to the citizens of the federal capital by using all its resources
