The men were convicted of abusing two girls in the early 2000s, with offences including rape, assault, and grooming.
The cases are part of Operation Stovewood, the largest child abuse investigation in UK history, launched in 2014 after the Jay Report revealed widespread abuse in Rotherham between 1997 and 2013. The report found that at least 1,400 girls were abused, trafficked, and groomed by gangs of men, with police and social services failing to intervene.
The latest convictions bring the total number of people convicted through Operation Stovewood to 36. The trial heard how the victims, aged 11-16, were groomed and exploited by their abusers, who would often collect them from children’s homes.

NCA senior investigating officer Stuart Cobb described the men as “cruel and manipulative,” subjecting their victims to “the most harrowing abuse possible.” The attacks took place at various locations around Rotherham, including parks, cars, and even a children’s nursery.The NCA said one of the girls was brought to a hotel where two men raped her. In another incident, the same girl was locked by her abuser in home. He raped her on two occasions. Later, she managed to escape the house by climbing out of a window.

Their sentences range from seven to 25 years, reflecting the severity of their crimes. The investigation and convictions serve as a testament to the ongoing efforts to bring justice to the victims of child abuse in Rotherham.
