Malicious campaign launched to dent PM popularity

Islamabad – Mudasser Chudhary:

A well-coordinated malicious campaign has been started against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led provincial governments in Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) along with the top bureaucrats in the center closed to the Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Well-placed sources told this scribe that the campaign has been launched to malign the close confidents of Imran Khan in the federal bureaucracy in order to build a pressure on the premier so as he could replace them with new faces.
They said that the purpose of the malicious campaign against the PTI led provincial governments and the top and most talented bureaucrats was not because of their performance but just to weaken the Prime Minister.
Sources further said that the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) adopted multi-pronged strategies after it failed to get public out in their public rallies. The opposition parties now resorted to start malicious propaganda against Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar and Chief Minister KP Mehmood Khan calling them burden on the PTI though ground situation speaks otherwise.
However, sources said that since the opposition and the people involved in the campaign have no interest with public issues and just attacking the Chief Ministers and the top bureaucrats especially Azam Khan, Secretary to the Prime Minister, for their vested political interests; hence this strategy would also doom to fail like their public rallies.
They said that the Prime Minister could not be blackmailed through such tactics and he would take the battle against the corrupts and crooks to its logical ends come what may.
They said that the Premier categorically stated in other day’s PTI core committee meeting that he is a kind of leader to flee the battleground; hence the opposition leaders are well-aware of the fact due to which they now opted to use other tactics to discredit PTI and the premier.
The sources expressed surprise as how some know figures suddenly changed their point of views pertaining to the PM and his federal and provincial teams when they ranked them the best and their policies were being defended at all fronts. Therefore, they believed that overnight change of mind of some personalities clearly indicated that after the PDM facing embarrassing at all fronts now used such people who are once close to the premier. They stated that these selected people are seemingly given the task to run a vigorous campaign against government’s policies especially highlighting the inflation to ignite the public sentiments against the Premier.
The sources further said that the government initiated a number of public welfare projects but none could get due attention in media and no one talked about them. They said that all these public-centric projects further the popularity of the premier and the PTI; hence Imran Khan hinted at holding fresh elections if his government was not in position to make legislations to ensure relief for the public.
