LECTURE ON “NEGOTIATING THE THIRD SPACE”

Islamabad: (Staff Reporter) Saba Hussain a visual artist, curator, founder and director of Lahore Art Foundation Trust (LAFT) delivered lecture on “Negotiating The Third Space”, here at National Art Gallery, Islamabad. The lecture was part of the PNCA efforts for the promotion of art education and guidance to the young students in the field.

Saba Hussain shared her experiences with the participants mostly comprising of young artists and students and talked about her field of interest, especially realistic imagery, and abstraction. She is inspired by Urdu and Persian poetry particularly that of Ghalib, Faiz, Rumi and Noon Meem Rashid. Her expression reveals itself through prints, handmade paper, mix media and illustration. The participants learned a lot in one go because of her command over variety of mediums in the field and termed it as a great help towards the process of their learning.

Saba Hussain graduated from National College of Arts, Lahore and Mastered from Kyoto University of Fine Arts and Music, Japan. She has many solo and group exhibitions at home and abroad to her credit. Her work is in the permanent collection of National Art Gallery in Pakistan and various Museums in UK and Japan.
