The ninth Democratic debate in Las Vegas, Nevada will be beld today evening.
While Mike Bloomberg qualified to make the debate stage for the first time, Tom Steyer, the other billionaire in the race who’s been a frequent presence at the Democratic debates.
Candidates had till February 18 to qualify. They had three paths to qualify: First, acquire as a minimum one pledged delegate in the Iowa caucuses or New Hampshire primary; Second, obtain 10 percent support in 4 national, South Carolina, or Nevada polls; or Third, acquire 12 percent support in South Carolina or Nevada polls. The donor threshold used for preceding debates was eliminated.
Six candidates qualified for the debate:
Former Vice President Joe Biden; former New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg; Ind. Mayor Pete Buttigieg; Former Mayor of South Bend, (Indiana); Sen. Amy Klobuchar, (D. MN); Sen. Bernie Sanders, (D. VT); Sen. Elizabeth Warren, (D-Mass).
Candidates will have 1 minute 15 seconds for answers and 45 seconds for follow-ups at the moderators’ discretion.
